What is NLP

There are so many definitions given to try to explain exactly what NLP is, and that very statement is quite revealing of it’s true nature. The letters stand for Neuro Linguistic Programming, a bit of a mouthful really but it refers to the process of how the mind works and how we think, the effect that the mode of the language we use has and the method of how we pursue our dreams or goals. I believe the simplest and most accurate definition of NLP is the pursuit of excellence regardless of the chosen goal, and discovering the best way to achieve that goal to end up with the desired outcome.

Why do we need to learn NLP techniques

The most simplistic answer is because there is no better way. It is not as if that statement can be challenged as you would be able to with someone else’s alternative strategy. The very nature of NLP is about modelling the most successful people in the field and how they tackle the tasks before them. It is not a step-by-step guide of follow me exactly but a very structured set of principles that you can adapt and make your own individual approach to your own unique set of circumstances.
